ARE YOU INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING TO BE A LEADER WITH THE
PLATT MARCHING BAND?

Note from Mrs. Boates to all student leader applicants:
I want to thank you for your interest and dedication in wanting to become a student leader in our Platt Band. I cannot choose everyone. The simple fact that you have come forward to challenge yourself is very worthy in itself. I have much respect and gratitude for you wanting to audition. Being a drum major is a serious commitment. If you are chosen, please understand that I will count on you to make all rehearsals and performances (more so than the band members). Please keep this in mind when you decide to take on extra-curricular activities and especially work schedules. You must work with me on schedule conflicts so that we can keep a healthy, positive program. All student leaders will be chosen for specific reasons that deal with many aspects of responsibility, commitment, leadership, and your love of music. If you cannot accept the reality that you may not be chosen, then you should not try out for this position. Your intentions must be good for the band, not for yourself. I am so pleased that you will be auditioning. Best of luck to you and please come see me if you need help with something. Sincerely, Mrs. Boates |
